Because of the international Week of Integrity, the Dutch Whistleblowers Authority has launched an English version of the ‘Integrity Guide’ for (international) organisations, located in the Netherlands, where Dutch is not the main language.
The Integrity Guide is an online questionnaire for organisations with 250 or more employees and shows what organisations can do in the area of integrity management, based on 35 questions. The direct feedback provides insights in how an organisation can further professionalise its integrity management in total and subdivided into the following seven themes:
- Leadership & Strategy
- Values & Standards
- Rules & Procedures
- Personnel & Culture
- Reporting & Enforcement
- Communication & Accountability
- Cohesion & Coordination
The Integrity Guide is particularly suitable for employees with a coordinating task in the area of integrity, such as integrity officers and compliance officers. It can be completed individually or by teams. The Integrity Assessment Tool is also useful for organisations with fewer than 250 employees, but some of the recommendations will not be entirely applicable to a smaller-size organisation.
The themes and (underlying) questions are based on the ‘Integrity Infrastructure’ introduced in the exploration Integrity Management & the Integrity Manager.
The Integrity Infrastructure, by the Dutch Whistleblowers Authority, is a conceptual framework that provides for a coherent approach to integrity. The framework was developed on the basis of theoretical and practical insights and is suitable for both the public and private sectors.
